Kendra

Portable ground station. Kendra means “hub”.

A rugged handheld controller that plans, flies and monitors Shadanga and Uddan, with Drishti and Sanket video.

Kendra is a rugged handheld ground controller: a wide landscape screen above two thumbsticks, shoulder wheels and keys within reach of the grips, a guarded centre switch and two folding paddle antennas. One unit plans, flies and monitors Shadanga and Uddan, and receives the Drishti and Sanket video feeds.

Where it fits.

  • Mission planning and monitoring for survey and inspection flights.
  • Direct manual control on the sticks, with shoulder wheels for gimbal pitch and zoom.
  • Ground end of the encrypted command, telemetry and video link, mirrored to an observer on Netra.

Works with.

  • Aircraft: Shadanga and Uddan over the SPATICS encrypted link, with MAVLink telemetry.
  • Payload: Drishti control on the shoulder wheels and keys, with the Sanket feed as a second stream.
  • Observer: HDMI or wireless mirror to Netra goggles.

Key features.

  • Wide landscape screen

Planar coated glass in the upper body, running a terrain-map interface.

  • Two symmetrical thumbsticks

Each sits on the lower shelf directly above its grip lobe, with an unobstructed sweep and a knurled cap.

  • Shoulder rollers and keys

Two rollers and two recessed keys fall under the index fingers while holding the grips. Two pairs of tactile keys sit inboard of the sticks.

  • Guarded centre rocker

Orange, on the centreline, with a green status indicator beside it.

  • Folding paddle antennas

Two short paddles at the upper rear corners, with orange hinge inserts.

  • Rear I/O behind covers

The ports sit behind covers at the rear. Shock corners and black elastomer grip overmoulds protect the body.

All figures are indicative targets, subject to validation; range is limited by Indian WPC power limits, and NavIC on the controller requires an L5-capable receiver.

Kendra is concept hardware in development and is not offered for sale. Export may be subject to Indian SCOMET controls.

Design and materials.

Deep charcoal injection-moulded polymer with a fine low-sheen grain, coarse black grip rubber, smooth silicone stick boots, satin controls and dark steel fasteners. Orange latch and hinge inserts, and a green power indicator.

Briefings and demonstrations.
