Shadanga

Six-arm inspection hexacopter. Shadanga means “six-limbed”.

A modular platform for close-range inspection and field service, carrying the Drishti gimbal or a utility cassette.

Shadanga is a modular six-rotor platform for close-range inspection and field service. It hovers beside the asset with an interchangeable belly module, carries the Drishti multi-sensor gimbal as its primary payload and accepts a spot-spray cassette on the same rails.

Where it fits.

  • Infrastructure, utility and plant inspection at hover: towers, lines, tanks and bridges.
  • Field service: swap a sensor in minutes, or spot-treat with the optional wet cassette.
  • Not a sprayer or a courier: area survey belongs to Uddan, cargo to a separate platform.

Works with.

  • Payload: the Drishti gimbal on the quick-release plate with a keyed power and data connector, and the Sanket air unit for a pilot view.
  • Ground: the Kendra ground station, with Netra goggles for the FPV feed.
  • Power: two hot-swappable smart packs, charged through the pack rather than the airframe.

Key features.

  • Six separate arms

Six motors and six two-blade rotors in one plane, with a clear forward gap for the camera sight line. No coaxial pairs.

  • Interchangeable mission module

A reserved 300 × 250 × 220 mm belly bay on quick-release rails takes the camera gimbal or a utility cassette.

  • Twin top-mounted battery packs

Each pack has its own mechanical retention, a protected connector, a handle recess and an orange release latch.

  • Replaceable arm assemblies

Motor, Vega controller and root connector are serviced per arm behind the root cover. The arms fold at the root for transport, with positive open stops.

  • Two carbon skids

On four struts, with clearance beneath the lowest fitted payload.

  • GNSS puck on the centreline

Mounted clear of the rotor sweep and the high-current cabling.

All figures are indicative targets, subject to engineering validation and to QCI/DGCA type certification under the Drone Rules 2021; six rotors alone do not guarantee motor-out recovery.

Shadanga is concept hardware in development and is not offered for sale. Export may be subject to Indian SCOMET controls.

Design and materials.

Matte charcoal moulded polymer and composite covers, carbon-fibre arms, propellers and skids, satin-black motors and fasteners. Orange marks the arm-lock tabs and the battery latch, green the release inset and the front status indicator.
